Week 16

Week 16: This week focuses on tidying up the final draft of my industry investigation proposal. Action Taken: I have edited the initial PowerPoint presentation we did in Week 4 and added all the other information I have researched to present to the class. I also skimmed through my report to ensure that everything was included and that I had followed the assessment guideline package. Lastly, by the end of this week, I have submitted and emailed my Word and PowerPoint files to my lecturer for grading.

Week 15

Week 15: This week involves writing my ethics management plan. Ethical issues include informed and voluntary consent, respect for rights and confidentiality and preservation of anonymity, minimisation of harm, cultural and social sensitivity, limitation of deception, respect for intellectual and cultural property ownership, avoidance of conflict of interest, and research design adequacy Ethical Issues Management plan Informed and voluntary consent It is critical to appropriately give informed and voluntary consent before conducting any interview. Therefore, I must first ask for informed consent through a written paper or verbally to legally interview an individual or group. Furthermore, if I do a data collection interview, I can ask their permission after their participation Respect for rights and confidentiality and preservation of anonymity It is essential to use caution to prevent confidentiality violations when...

Week 14

Week 14: In this week I have started to write up the capability development plan for this course.  Capabilities Development Plan Communication I will develop clear communication with my lecturer to get a better understanding and feedback on my project report. I will do this by coming to class and getting feedback one-on-one or by emailing or texting him. By doing so, I can develop my communication skills to help me further in the other upcoming assessments. Working Collaboratively I will develop collaboration skills by discussing and exchanging ideas regarding the proposal report with my peers. Additionally, I can discuss my study plans with the lecturer. Through this, I can write my report with a better understanding and knowledge of report structure and the necessary information needed with the help and feedback I will receive from my peers and lecturer. Self-Employment Self-emp...

Week 13

Week 13:  In week 13, I started tidying up what I had written about my industry investigation proposal. I also started to generate data collection questions, which will be used to gather the relevant data. I have also identified the methodology type I will use for each type of data collection.  Data collection questions: Survey questions (Quantitative method): Social demands of electric vehicle use 1.     What is your perception of electric vehicle? 2.     Would you buy an electric vehicle as your next car, or in the future? 3.     How will electric vehicle affect your daily routine lifestyle compared to owning an internal combustion engine? 4.       Interview questions (Qualitative method): Operating parameters of electric vehicle 1.     How does the charging an electric vehicle during peak hours impact the electrical ...

Week 12

Week 12: In this week, I have finished covering the two common types of methodology, which are qualitative and quantitative.  For this week, I will focus on writing about mixed methodology, which, as the name suggests, combines qualitative and quantitative methodology. Research using mixed methods involves intentionally mixing data collecting, data processing, and evidence interpretation techniques. The word "mixed" is crucial because data linkage, or integration at the right point in the research process, is a crucial component of the mixed methods. Researchers can seek a more comprehensive understanding of their research terrain by examining occurrences from different angles and through various research lenses thanks to purposeful data integration.

Week 11

Week 11 : In week 11, the primary focus was researching quantitative methodology. A quantitative methodology means the process of gathering and evaluating numerical data to characterise, predict, or control relevant factors. This kind of study aids in prediction-making, examining the causal links between variables, and expanding findings to larger populations. Quantitative research aims to test a theory or hypothesis and, depending on the findings, either accept or reject it. Typically, this methodology is used to spot trends and uncover patterns in the research. Action Taken: I used the same method to acquire the definitions of quantitative methodology. Result: I finished writing my quantitative methodology by the end of the week.

Week 10

Week 10: This week, I started to focus on just researching what is a qualitative methodology. A qualitative methodology involves collecting and analysing non-numerical data, which can help us understand concepts, opinions, and experiences. Action Taken: I have read literature from different studies explaining what qualitative methodology means. Additionally, other sources and websites provided by big-name universities also provide definitions and how this methodology can benefit the type of research I will be doing.
